The Hurlingham Club Wedding Cake - An elegant spring wedding

The brief that they wanted for their wedding cake was something simple and small! This little elegant wedding cake hit that brief. If you are having an intimate wedding you can by all means have a very elegant and impactful wedding cake that your guest will fall in love with. I try to make sure all of my wedding cakes are unique to each and every couple so it is all the more special. Wedding cakes are so unique and special, this will be the biggest cake that you will most likely have and they should have something that has a lot of care and detail that goes into it.

DESIGNING THE WEDDING CAKE

The lovely bride got in touch with me in February for their June wedding, cutting it quite tight but thankfully I had the capacity for their gorgeous spring wedding. We had our wedding cake consultations and I knew right away what type of cake the couple wanted to go for. They made it very clear that they would want a simple wedding cake, and I really love creating a cake with simplicity. I have so many couples come to me expressing to me that they would not want a cake that is obnoxious, a lot of them want a very understated beautiful wedding cake. The couple wanted to have a small wedding cake for their guest number 35.

IS SPRING A GOOD TIME TO GET MARRIED?

I believe that spring is the best time to get married. I know a controversial opinion but spring comes with so much beauty. I believe that I can make a whole blog post about this. The array of flowers in spring, spring is where so many gorgeous blooms come into season, peonies, tulips and anemones, the list is endless! In spring there is a less likely chance of extreme weather, there are longer hours of daylight, and there are so many bank holidays found in May.

WHAT THE DAY WAS LIKE FOR THE WEDDING DAY?

It was a glorious spring day when I came in to do the wedding cake set-up. The team at The Hurlingham Club were super helpful on the day of the wedding set up which makes the job so much easier! On the day of the wedding cake set up, I like to arrive between 60-90 minutes before the wedding breakfast begins so the wedding cake can be the finishing touch of the wedding. I was greeted by a beautiful array of fresh flowers for me to adorn my wedding cake with and the set-up went fantastically smooth and the wedding cake was simply beautiful.
