Kimpton Fitzroy London- Wedding Cake

Having a wedding at the Kimpton Fitzroy is a fantastic decision to make because this is by far one of the best wedding venues in London! I have made wedding cakes here a good couple of times and it takes my breath away each time I set up one of my wedding cakes there. It is such a grand venue in the centre of London and it is a stunning place to get married if you would like a memorable wedding.

As an experienced wedding cake designer, the more I create wedding cake the more I fall in love with it! The magic of wedding celebrations, where two individuals embark on their lifelong journey of love and commitment, is incredibly captivating. Crafting wedding cakes allows me to be a part of this joyous union, translating the couple's unique love story into an edible masterpiece. Each cake becomes a symbol of love, unity, and anticipation, delighting not only the newlyweds but also their loved ones. The creative process, from designing intricate details to experimenting with flavours, unveils endless possibilities, igniting my creativity and making each cake a precious masterpiece. Witnessing tears of joy and awe in the eyes of the couple and their guests when they see their dream cake come to life is the ultimate reward, reaffirming my love for this art form.

The brief that my couple wanted for their wedding cake was:

“Our ideal cake is entirely simple and completely white with perhaps some green and white floral decoration.”

This was certainly something that I could do! Simple wedding cakes the floral decorations are my zone of genius.

How we first got in touch and what our first interaction was like:

The bride first got in touch with me through my website. She came across my wedding cake business through Instagram, which is a fantastic place to come across amazing wedding suppliers. We quickly booked a consultation, It was great to finally speak with the couple after a couple of emails. They had let me know that their wedding needed to be simple and classic as they wanted a cake to fit within that theme. Because Kimpton Fitzroy is such a grand wedding venue, going for a simple London wedding works so well as the venue does most of the talking. Buttercream cakes in central London wedding venues are such a lovely statement, sometimes when you have a venue that is very ostentatious, having a simple wedding cake is a great option.

The Kimpton Fitzroy

  • The Kimpton Fitzroy is a gorgeous 19th-century hotel in the heart of Bloomsbury, Russell Square

  • The wedding team are super hands-on and available on the day to assist.

    • Capacity: 200

    • It is a great place to get married because the connections to the wedding venue are fantastic.

What the day was like for the wedding day?

The couple has a November wedding so it was a fresh and bright day. They had decided to have their ceremony and reception in the same part of the venue. I came in during the venue change-over slot but decorated the wedding cake in a separate part of the Kimpton. The team as always were incredibly helpful!

The wedding cake flavours they chose:

  • Chocolate - A rich dark chocolate sponge topped with lashings of velvety vanilla buttercream.

  • Lemon and Elderflower- a fresh and zingy lemon sponge soaked in elderflower topped with lemon buttercream and homemade lemon curd

Something unique about their wedding

The couple had their dog come down the aisle in a flower collar, so incredibly adorable!
