Kew Garden Wedding - An elegant floral wedding cake

The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers as guests gathered at Kew Gardens for a stunning spring wedding. The vibrant colours of the gardens provided a stunning backdrop for the joyful occasion. The sound of birds chirping and bees buzzing added to the natural symphony of the day. It was a perfect day for a celebration of love amidst the beauty of nature at Kew Gardens.

Abigail. Thank you so much for our delicious and beautiful cake. It acted as a fabulous centrepiece and was devoured with gusto!
— Rose and Marc

We started planning their wedding cake in 2023 when the mother of the bride got in touch with me on behalf of her daughter as she came across one of the floral wedding cakes I had done in the past for another one of my couples. After finding out was in Kew Gardens, we thought it would be a no-brainer to have an edible flower wedding cake there as it fits in with the botanical theme of their wedding cake perfectly. My couple speedily ordered a wedding cake sample box to help them decide on the flavours and then they were booked in for their wedding cake with Bloom and Crumb.

Rose and Marc tied the knot at a local nearby church and celebrated their wedding at the Temperate House in Kew, this is the grand and beautiful greenhouse that houses some of the most unique and rare plants in the world.

Getting married at Kew Gardens

The calm feel and beautiful flowers at Kew Gardens make us feel peaceful and connected to nature even though we are only a stone’s throw away from Central London. With its interesting past, this location is special and memorable for us to celebrate this important occasion. This was my second time working at Kew but it was at a completely different area of the venue, at Cambridge Cottage a more intimate venue space.

Pressed flower wedding cake

Let’s talk about the delicious inside, the flavours they went for were:

💫1st tier (top): Chocolate and salted caramel

💫2nd tier (middle): Carrot

💫3rd tier (middle): Lemon and Elderflower

💫4th tier (bottom): Vanilla and Passionfruit

I always suggest opting for a variety of flavours for each tier since your wedding cake is likely to be the most significant cake at your event! A safe bet would be a universally enjoyed flavour, perhaps something fruity for a refreshing twist, and don't forget a rich and indulgent option. Now, I firmly believe that a wedding cake serves as not just a stunning decoration but also a delectable centrepiece. When Rose and Marc celebrated their special day, they placed their exquisite wedding cake at the heart of the conservatory, making it the focal point for all their guests to admire. The bride graciously expressed how it became a magnificent centrepiece in her note to me, emphasizing the true essence of what a wedding cake represents in a celebration of love.
